A little upset today.. My hubby and I order from here often and the food is usually ok. Today I ordered a personal pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, onion, and bell pepper. Pizza was soggy, they used canned mushrooms, and the veggies altogether just fell off because the pizza wasn't cooked where the veggies could get crusted on.. Maybe I'm being picky because I'm pregnant but even my hubby said it wasn't very tasty and he eats everything lol.. Oh well, I guess I know what not to order from there anymore.

Great pizza, ordering for years. Hired new girl, incompetent and rude cannot fill an order. Never ordering from here again. Could we worse she could be working in the medical field.

I've been going here since I was 6 and it's my favorite pizza in Brooklyn. The vegetable slices are crack and you can go for a nice walk on the bay after. Awesome renovation post sandy and an amazing experience. Frank and all the staff are awesome!

I really really love this place. The service is great with a friendly staff. I Recommend the grilled chicken greek salad or the salmon over vegetables. Everything here tastes fresh and I've never had a bad experience.

It was exciting that V&S opened up again after Sandy! The bf and I enjoy coming here for the eggplant parm baked ziti as well as the hero and I enjoy the shrimp versions. They also have italian desserts, salads and of course pizza! They fixed up the place with nice marble looking seating and a nice look. It is great to see the neighborhood places back in action!

My favorite pizza place around Sheepshead Bay. White and regular pizzas are my usual and have never disappointed. The place has a nice selection of salads and classic Italian dishes. They also serve alcohol and have the tastiest mini canolis. I took off one star for delivery which takes too long and sometimes pizza arrives cold. I prefer to eat in as their seating area is very nice and clean.

I come to this place whenever I'm starving or just want a slice of some darn good pizza. The first time I discovered this place I was on a stroll of sheepshead bay, headed to the corner deli, to buy some water. I passed this place and saw a few slices left for sale and decided I was more hungry than I thought. They have some awesome slices available. I almost always go with margarita or just plain old cheese slices, but they have pepperoni as well as many others. Can't beat the price for a slice!! I ordered ahead once for a whole pie of plain cheese and it was hot, fresh, and simple, simply amazing. I didn't have to wait for my order at all, and the prices are good. I haven't eaten inside, just been inside long enough to see that the place is clean, and yes, I even checked out the bathroom and that was clean too. They have outside seating if you prefer getting your pizza and people watching on the bay.

This place is amazing! The food, the people, the location right opposite the bay!! I would definitely recommend stopping by for dinner and having an entree...what's great is they have all types of beer and wine and the managers are so friendly and kind...my new favorite spot with great quality food and fun atmosphere

Probably one of the best pizza spots in Southern Brooklyn. Slices are on the lighter side and taste great. Most of the pasta dishes are pretty good as well. For sandwiches your better off going to Jimmy's around the corner.

I did not review V&S? This is not possible! My review must have been filtered! Erased! Whateva. We first tried V&S in 1996 when I moved in with my hubby in a bldg close by. 17 years, 3 kids later, and living 40 minutes away, this is still our sweet spot. Our 2 kids grew up on this pizza since they were able to chew solids. Our 3rd one whom we call country boy since he was born outside of Brooklyn has tried it for the first time on Sat, and it was a historic moment. Afterwards, my two older kids, now aged 14 and 11 came to the owner and told him that despite the fact that we like a particular pizzeria in our new hometown (which took us like 3 years to find), they still say V&S is a notch above. I also love their grilled shrimp salad, they saute it in a bit of sherry, it is really good and loaded with like dozen large shrimps.

I had lamented over the absence of V&S since hurricane Sandy. I went there this summer and was taken aback with their awkward renovations and lackluster flavor. Nothing tasted the same (I formerly rated it 5 stars). The warm hospitable vibe was lost. Upon entry you are hit by a 5 foot high equally wide glass encasement which one must order at, this forms a wall fending off customers from actually entering the pizzeria. At my stature I had to stand on my tippy toes to get someone's attention, I had no clue where to wait for my order besides the entryway or outside which made truly feel unwelcome as people were trying to enter and exit. There appears to be is a lower side by tables that would have had me loiter amidst seated customers that I didn't feel was appropriate to wait near. The deserts in the showcase are clearly brought in and seem out of place for a pizzeria. It looks like V&S owners wanted to increase the places prestige but their plan was poorly executed and not well thought out. Won't visit again.

Ordered the other night, was told delivery time would be a half hour for one salad and one chicken marsala entree, called back after 40 min told it was on its way, didnt arrive until 1 hour and 10 min after I placed the order and was told it would be 1/2 hour, called back and spoke to some russian girl who answered the phone that was extremely rude and unprofessional, will never order here again, there are way to many options in BK to have to deal with inconsiderate rude people who do not know how to treat their customers!!!

Great pizza! Great owners, come here all the time and order deliveries almost daily. The fresh mozzarella slice is to die for, and the grandma slice...fugheddabout it!

Tried it, for adventure sake. Fan of the food, not a fan of the service. The waitress barely had any customer service. She gave us fresh bread, which is always welcomed, but failed to go be us plates. When the food arrived, it looked like authentic Italian food. Another disappointment was when I was told they didn't gave ice. I don't remember the last eatery that didn't have ice for beverages. When asked for a raspberry snapple, she returned back with a coke, not explaining, why the substitution. When I was handed the check, after waiting 15 minutes for her to come pick it up, we had to go to the register ourselves. It wouldn't have bothered me if they charged tax to my card, but a warning would've been nice than the cashier just walking off with my card into another room and returning with a receipt of high total. The experience there was more upsetting than pleasant. Hope they shape up soon.

Good pizza. I would like to see a more attentive staff. Counter staff seem distracted. Took too long to order a couple of slices. Comfortable dining area. Pizzeria has been renovated. Nice job on the renovations.

Lack of cheese on the pizza, I've had better elsewhere.. Overpriced. I wish the outdoor area was larger and that napkins would be offered..

Gross pizza. Had a slice and grandma square. Grandma slice tasted like it was there for days. Stale. Regular slice huge and mushy. No taste to it Never again am I coming to this joint

Don't get me wrong V&S has great pizza...BUT the delivery people are absolutely atrocious. I very rarely have a painless delivery from them but today's delivery topped them all. So 45 minutes after my order (mind you we live literally 5 blocks away in a straight line) the delivery guy calls my cell. Instead of a hello I hear "V&S!!! what's your apartment number ?" (this was on my grubhub order by the way). I told him the apt# and said I'd come down to meet him. He was nowhere to be found. I waited for 15 mins and called him multiple times but could not reach him. Meanwhile I left my kids alone upstairs. Finally he picked up with "yea?". He then proceeded to argue with me that he was indeed at the right address while he clearly was not. He then said "hold on ill be right there". I waited another 10 minutes and went back home. He then called me to come down...if anyone's counting that's an hour and about 15 minutes since I placed my order. When I came down he rudely barked at me that he's been downstairs for 5 minutes and where the hell was I. He then flung the pizza into my hands without so much as a hint of an apology and stormed off. So to sum up I and my two kids waited over an hour for cold pizza delivered by a driver with no sense of customer service.

OMG love this pizzeria! Best pizza ever! Their vodka pizza is my absolute favorite! All of their entrees are absolutley delicious! Whether its their pasta dishes, fish etc..... Their salads, are big, beautiful, and oh so good! They are always consistent with everything they make, it will always taste the same! All of the staff there are so nice which is a plus. The seating is comfortable, and they have TV"s! Great job V&S! Whatever your doing, keep doing it!! :)

Let's get something straight: I'm obviously, not Italian. BUT---I'm NYC born and bred, lived in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island during my 40+ years of life. Was married to a Sardinian descended person, who is the best cook of Italian fare you could ever meet. Been to Grimaldi's, Spumoni Gardens, all the raved-about pizza places. My favorite pizza place, to-date is V&S. It's not just the delicious, perfect concoction of tangy/sweet tomato sauce. It's not just about the right amount of real cheese, and not the fake crap so many of the 99 cent slicer places use. It's all of that, plus the freshness, plus the owners. After 9/11, I walked home, devastated, and made a stop into this place. I got dinner but also comfort from people who are real New Yorkers, and really care about their customers. I live in Manhattan these days, and the pizza in Manhattan is an embarrassment compared to V&S. If you are in this part of Brooklyn, do yourself a favor; grab a couple of slices at V&S.

If I were dying I would want my last meal to be a Fresh Mozz slice from V&S. It is by far the most amazingly delicious piece of pizza I have ever had. I highly recommend you try it!

And...THEY'RE BACK! We were strolling around on Mother's Day and stumbled upon the grand opening balloons and signs. Despite being on our way to get sushi, we couldn't help but try the Sicilian slice which looked awesome in the new shiny displays. The place was very nicely redone and the pizza was delicious. The crust was very light and had the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. The charming owners were clearly excited to be open and offered special Mother's Day/ Grand Opening pricing. The excited staff and great pizza means we'll definitely be back and happy to support the community. Welcome Back!

As good as it gets. Amazing pizza, the real thing, as good as any pizza ever made. The fresh mozz pie is to die for, and so is the regular pie. V& S is also a great neighborhood hang. The owners are there, making pie, and you can see that the big guy enjoys kneading the dough, making this phenomenal old school crust. And they talk all day long with their customers, regulars and newcomers. A true old school Brooklyn pizza parlor,.Right across form the bay, V & S was gutted and renovated after Hurricane Sandy, The place is immaculate, spotless, always was, even before the storm.

I used to love this place and order from there all the time. Not anymore.... I ordered fried calamari and shrimp parmigiana hero. Just terrible. The calamari was so rubbery and the breading was soggy and just coming right off. I can honestly say I've never had such terrible calamari in all my years of growing up and living in Brooklyn. The hero was awful as well. It was so soggy the bread was almost falling apart. The sauce was sour tasting and the shrimp were huge/jumbo but tasted like they were old and prepared a day or 2 ago. I was so disappointed I called and spoke to the manager Joe, who at first was quite defensive and said if I wanted the sandwich to have toasted bread that I should request it that way and he makes the calamari himself per order and not frozen like I suggested. He did offer to have the food picked up and give me a refund. Joe was very nice and said next time I ordered to ask for him and he will make things right and hook me up. Unfortunately their menu went in the garbage with the calamari.

I can't believe that I have bypassed this place for so long. V&S is one of the best pizzerias that I have ever ate at. I'm the usual 2 slices in one sitting kind of guy but when I tried the fresh mozzarella with pepperoni and sausage I couldn't help but to eat 3 of them. Great fresh pizza. I don't know who's the V and who's the S in V&S but these guys have perfected their craft. Def worth checking out.

ABSOLUTELY ... DEFINITELY ... AS GOOD AS IT GETS! We happened upon this place by chance. On our first visit, we tried the plain, the pepperoni and the chicken. All were FANTASTIC. Thin crusted pizza that holds together regardless of what or how much is put on top of it. Excellent ratio of cheese/sauce. On our second visit, we tried the eggplant/spinach combo and it Is SUPERB. V&S is much better than Spumoni Gardens which we feel is over-rated. It is much better than Grimaldi's and others of it's type. The only drawback here is if you come here by car it may be a challenge to find parking. The first time we came, it was on foot so there was no problem at all. The second time we came we couldn't find parking so hubby stayed in the car while my son and I ran in for slices. We just got it to go and enjoyed it in the car and when I say enjoyed I mean it. We were sorry we didn't get extra slices for our freezer! We live downtown Brooklyn and have decided it is definitely worth the trip to the Bay just to eat this pizza. We will come here often. You must check this place out. It is a hidden gem!

They have unbelievable rude service!! I have no idea what's the pizza even taste like because I've been waiting on the pizza for more then 45 minutes (they are located 0.8 miles away from me). When I called the most rude girl (sounds like a really disgusting snob teenager) told me "we waiting on the delivery guy, it'll take a few minutes before he gets back" - "ok, but can you tell me more or less when? It's been more then 45 minutes..." - "I told you, when he gets here we will send him. And I have another line, bye!" I wish they get no customers at all.

Pizza is atrocious, reminiscent of school lunch. Little Sauce, completely dry and flavourless, the pizza is pretty pricey too. The toppings are extremely unremarkable and are 6.00 for the entire pizza. Never expected such a disappointment. 1 star for a pretty alright cannoli! 30.00 wasted down the drain.

I moved to Sheepshead Bay about 3 years ago. After many failed, or overpriced pizza experiences, Delmars -Waste of money. I was so excited to have V & S. It's sad that bad experiences sometimes inspire us to write a review about an establishment we actually enjoy. I've had my up's and downs with V&S but they always have been more than sweet about it. Once a pizza that wasn't mine was delivered, and they came back with my pizza and food. Another time, they forgot the pepperoni on a pizza, and just gave it to us free on the next pizza order. Great business practices for locals. But I can't help but write that my experiences during the daytime, are not at all like the nighttime. When i order food at night, it always it great, flavorful, piping hot. Never any problems. Awhile back, I order a pizza for lunch with some friends, and we basically got a reheated pizza from the night before. Crust uber hard, tons of bubbles, some burned areas and some cold areas. Whatever, I gave it up to being a fluke moment. However... Today it happened again. Same exact experience. I was so hungry after waiting for what I expected to be a fresh pie, I couldn't even bring myself to call about it again. That should never happened, when someone orders a whole pie and waits almost an hour. Rewarming, in the shop, for a slice is no big deal, but this was like a round cardboard covered in lumps with dry sauce and cheese. I won't be ordering again in the day, whoever is working for you in the afternoons, doesn't care about your business practices.50 minutes for a reheated pizza? Really? In October, when there's no real tourism in the bay... I'll be happy to order at night, when someone knows what they're doing. But this type of crap, ruins small businesses. Hire a new afternoon guy. Simple Solution. Salutations.

This is actually a really busy pizzeria, even though its a bit off the main drag of Emmons Ave. When I came the entire UPS delivery force for the area were inside watching America's funniest home videos. Within a minute of me sitting down, the other tables were taken and there was a line for slices. This place isn't that big so this is pretty impressive. Everyone seemed to know each other, so suffice to say it was a festive atmosphere. As for the pizza, I got a Sophia Loren slice. Their crust is cracker thin, and while it wasn't the best I've had of this type it wasn't the worst either. The real problem was that even though they used good ingredients, the garlic dominated the slice. They put way too much on, and it really ruined everything else. From what I tasted the tomatoes and fresh mozzarella were both high quality, but next time I come here I'll try a different slice. After all, the waitress was pretty cute.

The heros are so good and gigantic! I got a ham, salami, and provolone cold hero and it was so delicious. I ordered off seamless and it arrived in about 20 minutes, could have been sooner but the poor delivery guy got lost and I couldn't answer my cell phone at work! I actually wound up splitting my sandwich because it was so big so it became really cost effective too. I've had their pizza in the past and it's absolutely delicious! A+

Love. I used to go here all the time when i was younger and get the baked ziti slice. They don't offer it as a slice anymore, only as a pie. But i don't care (although i almost always ask), still love them. Every kind of pizza i've had here is delicious. I've tried some entrees too. All good! I also like that they have smaller bottles of soda, since i can never finish the normal sized bottle.

If you are looking for authentic Brooklyn pizza this is the place that has it. The seating area is small and basic, and the service is friendly. Tasty authentic Italian food like grandma would make. The tomato sauce is mild and does not overwhelm the food like at other places. Prices are reasonable and you can feed a family of four for about 50 dollars Which is what I wanted as I did not want to spend an arm and a leg at one of the hoity-toity places that line Emmons Ave,

I come here only for one thing: the pan pizza slices, topped with fresh mozzarella (different texture than the usual gooey melted pizza cheese) and basil. The deep crust is crisp on the bottom and not the least bit greasy. The inner dough stays light and airy and avoids getting soggy from the sauce, as often happens with thick Sicilian squares. If only they used San Marzano tomatoes in the sauce these would be perfect. The regular slices here are no better (and no worse) than anywhere else. The place itself is very pleasant, a bit more upscale inside than the norm and with great views of the bay. You can also sit outside in nice weather (if such ever returns).

Can I get a pizza delivered to Brighton Beach? Yes. Like literally ON the beach. Yes. How fast? 30 mins. We were playing bocce and having a picnic afterwork, we had beverages but of course needed pizza. Thanks to V & S we never had to pack up shop and head in early. The festivities continued well into nightfall with an easy pickup meeting the guy at his car on the street that intersects with the boardwalk. For 20 bucks with tip we got a large pepperoni, it was still hot, and it tasted like Chuck E Cheese. You could.... speculate that this is a bad thing..... However I have fond memories of Chuck E Cheese birthday parties from when I was 6 and it happened to be my birthday so for all of this nostalgia's sake it was a good thing. The pizza was a little basic for my every day tastes but on the beach it doesn't have to be life changing! Next time I think I will follow the way of the locals and get the Sicilian. Perhaps I could even update my rating higher??
